Ikkyu-Ji

La première fois que l’on m’a demandé de travailler pour ce temple, c’était lors dans un évenement qu’ils organisaient, un light up du jardin situé au pied de la colline.

Owner of Taalem Records wanted the tracks "les feuilles se meurent..." I composed for the Ikkyu-Ji video to be part of his annual compilation "homework".
I asked the Monk of Ikkyu-Ji to give me his impressions about this track.

« No any intentional or artificial things, Zen simply shows you as things themselves are in our lives. As life is Impermanence, the fallen leaves tell you so. This time you can find the tranquility and also the circulation of life in Samuel André’s track. It is vigorous and there is the beauty without unnecessary things. In 2015, Shōmyō & Shakuhachi was recorded at Ikkyu Temple, located in Kyo-Tanabe, (Kyoto Prefecture) on the anniversary date Ikkyu-Zen-Monk passed away, while people were admiring and cerebrating his birth and his long time ago existence. The Japanese flute called "Shakuhachi" part was composed by him. »
words by Soko Tanabe, Monk atIkkyu-Ji temple.
